SuperLivePro lets you access your Digital Video Recorders (DVRs), IP cameras and CCTVs right from your iOS or Android device. You can monitor and control your client devices from anywhere in the world, provided your mobile phone has Internet access.
SuperLivePro provides you with useful features such as real-time video streaming with zoom in/out focus. You can also capture recordings and create backups. Event management lets you search remote videos by time/file or event.
You can add as many devices as you wish under the manager. From the Device Manager, you can add the device name, the IP address and the web port. From the Live page, you can then log in to the specific device that you have added, and you’ll be able to view live feedback from it.
SuperLivePro will provide you with two account types: Guest and Admin. Guest users can only tweak limited settings. Admins can make changes to the DVR directly from the mobile device, including the name of the DVR, video output, date and time, Live settings such as what DVR to show, camera angles and whether to record audio/video or both. As an Admin, there’s a whole lot of other functionalities that you can alter directly from your iOS or Google Android device. These include Schedules, Alarms (external sensors, motion triggers), Network (quality, bitrate, input type, email notifications) and P.T.Z (Address, Baud rate and Protocol).
This is an app for all Android devices (only requires Android 1.5 or higher). Apple devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) require iOS 6.0 or later.
Ease of Use
Unfortunately, the app suffers from several glitches, and even updates haven’t fixed most of them. Support is usually unresponsive to queries. There are too many complaints, especially from iPad users who complain that the Live Cam and feeds haven’t been optimized for their devices. The app also suffers too much lag. At least in the latest version, timing out of the live feed has been significantly reduced.
The design on the versions for both OSes is intuitive, and anybody will quickly get used to it. The interactive login screen is basic and has options for Net type, server, username and password. The main dashboard after login consists of tiles for Live, Settings, Image, Log, Server List and Image among others. The video playback quality wasn’t the best I’ve seen on DVR apps. However, the UI is simple enough for new users to adapt to quickly.
The app is free to install, and there are no in-app purchases.
- Effective UI;
- Offers a wide array of tools for both guest and admin users;
- Quickly picks up devices on local IPs.
- Terrible support;
- Loses Internet connectivity even with strong Wi-Fi or sufficient bandwidth;
- Both the iOS and Android app crash way too often;
- Some users have complained that the app doesn’t work on Wi-Fi outside of their own;
- Live Cam resolution on iPad is terrible.
This app has great features but too many glitches. The Google Play app works well on some devices and terrible on others. So far, and even in my own experience, the cons outweigh the pros, and this is nowhere near the leading monitoring software I have used. I wouldn’t recommend it.
